Electric Scooters and Electric Bikes in Pakistan: A Practical Guide
Thinking of an electric scooter or electric bike in Pakistan? What to check on range, charging, battery care, load and service before you buy.

Electric scooters and electric bikes are becoming a common sight on Pakistani roads. They are quiet, simple to ride and cost far less per kilometre than petrol. But they suit some riders better than others, so here is what to check before you buy.
Electric scooter or electric bike?
An electric scooter (scooty) has a step-through frame and a floorboard, which makes it easy to get on and off and comfortable for riders of all ages, including women and students. An electric bike keeps the familiar motorcycle shape and riding position, which many riders prefer for longer daily commutes. The ROHI Electric Bike is ROHI's electric model in the motorcycle style; ask your dealer about the ROHI Scooty if you prefer a step-through frame.
Range: plan with a margin
Range figures are measured in ideal conditions. Real range drops with a passenger, heavy loads, high speed, hills and very hot weather. A good rule is to choose a model whose stated range is comfortably more than your daily round trip, so you are never riding on the last few percent of the battery.
Charging at home
- Check that you have a safe, earthed socket where the bike can be parked and charged.
- Charge overnight with the charger supplied by the manufacturer.
- During load-shedding, top up whenever power is available rather than waiting for a flat battery.
Battery care in Pakistani weather
- Park in the shade in summer; heat is the biggest enemy of battery life.
- Avoid leaving the battery fully empty for long periods.
- Keep connectors dry and clean, especially in the monsoon.
Service and warranty
Electric bikes need far less routine maintenance than petrol bikes: no engine oil, spark plugs or clutch. Brakes, tyres and the battery still need attention, so buy from a brand with dealers near you. ROHI electric models are supported by the same 300+ dealer network as our petrol motorcycles.
Is electric right for you?
If your daily riding is mostly within the city and you can charge at home, an electric scooter or bike can cut your running costs dramatically. If you ride long intercity distances, a ROHI 70cc or 100cc petrol motorcycle is still the more practical choice.
